The ais Smart Kingpin features a self-checking system for articulated trailers/semi-trailers. ais combines its patented design with internal sensor technology to detect and alert when:

• The specified kingpin wear threshold is reached
• When a crack/failure occurs in the kingpin, which would require the trailer to be placed out of service immediately.

All ais Kingpins are supplied as a complete kit including the kingpin, backing plate, electric box, wiring and hardware. All parts are also available separately by request.

When ordering, please specify the kingpin you require and the thickness of the rubbing plate.

ais Backing Plate

The ais Backing Plate is available in rubbing plate thickness options from 8 to 16mm.

The Smart Kingpin must be used with the ais Backing Plate. ais Backing Plates will, however, accept other manufacturer's kingpins.
